“A New Look with a Few Spooks”

Hey all you ghosts and ghouls, beautiful people, lightworkers and such! Wow, that was quite the diverse greeting, wasn’t it?!

It has been nearly four fantabulous years (June to be a tad more precise 😉 ) since the creation of my site and I thought it was time for a change, one that’s been way overdue. As you can see, there’s a kickass new header image (designed by a very dear friend), shadowed by an adorable black, Gothic background adorned with skulls. And I’ve added a few more pages that were once written articles by me. I decided to upgrade the articles to having their own pages to help encourage people to openly discuss their very own personal paranormal experiences and more. So, I gladly welcome everyone’e interactions with an open mind and open arms.

My site here, sheilareneeparker.com, is non-judgemental and is free of all negativity. As I always say, “Positive Vibes Only”, baby!

Also, just for a little added creepiness, periodically I will be posting on here “Spooky Random Facts @ sheilareneeparker.com” to help sharpen the senses about things that “go bump in the night”. So, stay tuned and join in. Let’s have some spooky fun! I’ll try to keep things at a moderate level, not causing too much fright…. and I’ll even promise not to bite…. well, maybe just a little nibble. A girl’s gotta feed sometime, right?! 😉

A Grave Attraction

Hmmm…. The fascination of cemeteries, graves, headstones, gargoyles…. etc. etc…. To many, they are quite attracted to such places. Why? Well, to me (and yes, I am one of those who find these macabre locations to be rather intriguing.) there’s something serene about the atmosphere. I am at such peace when I am at a cemetery. Which, if one truly thinks about it, should be comforting to know that the dead are “resting in peace”. After all, I am an empath and can feel the deceased’s energy. 😉

Now that’s not to say that nefarious beings don’t lurk around in these places. All I’m saying is that I am never afraid while I’m in a cemetery. And then again, I’m always saying “no fear” when I publicly talk about the supernatural. Only because I faced my fears of the paranormal many years ago (from seeing shadow people to having a horrible Ouija Board experience), which is why I no longer am afraid. And I honestly believe that the main reason why I am not afraid of graveyards, is because that was actually the first location I had anything otherworldly happen to me. Previously, I wrote an article about it titled, “My First Paranormal Experience”. I was a very small child, and even though I was as young as I was, the experience was extremely comforting to me. I was so fascinated by it that it has always remained with me after all these years.

Getting back to the morbid curiosity of cemeteries. There is actually a name for this referred to as coimetromania. According to an online definition, it’s simply defined as “An abnormal attraction to and desire to visit cemeteries.” There are many, many people with this interest. And I’m sure that with each individual, their reasoning is just as unique as they are.

Just like those who love the final resting places of our beloved, there are many, many people who are terrified by cemeteries. Those who have this fear have coimetrophobia, which is referred to as “The abnormal and persistent fear of cemeteries.” Three years ago I wrote an article about this phobia titled, “A Grave Fear”. As much as I love graveyards, I personally do know some people who won’t even go near the places. And that in itself I find interesting… how people can be from one extreme to the other. Guess it’s all in part of how we as individuals can be as remarkable as we are!

I’m interested in how you feel about the topic? Are you intrigued by coimetromania or do you suffer from coimetrophobia? Or are you indifferent about it? I’d love to hear what you think!!

Bring it on, 2018… We’ve got this!!!

Wow, can you believe it?! 2018 is almost here!! I mean seriously, where did the time go? So much has happened in 2017! In September, I had the opportunity to attend the 2017 Gulf Coast ParaCon that was hosted by SPARS Paranormal in Biloxi, Mississippi, located at the beautiful Beauvoir. In November, I attended The Paranormal Diaries Film: EVENT in Sauk Centre, Minnesota, at the historical Palmer House Hotel. At both events I met lots of great people that I now consider very dear friends, and even took part in conducting paranormal investigations at both places. Plus, by being at both places, I learned so much more paranormally, historically and also many things on a personal level as far as exploring my very own gifts of being an empath and being able to communicate with the angelic realm. I’ve continued to grow from my experiences and feel even more enlightened on my life’s daily journey.

In the upcoming year of 2018 lots of exciting plans are in the works! I’ve been invited to join some more paranormal investigations that I’m really looking forward to! And I’ve also been invited back as a guest on a radio show in the very near future. Will happily keep you all posted! Not to mention, more exciting interviews with some pretty awesome guests that I can’t wait to publish for everyone to read! Also, many people have been asking about my next book, the sequel to The Spirit Within (The Spirit Within is available on Amazon!). This next book has been an exciting work in progress! I’m extremely thrilled with how the story line is being created…. lots more paranormal twists and steamy romance!

And, my art has really been taking off with buyers purchasing prints of my work (available at https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/sheilarenee-parker.html ). So, definitely phenomenal things are happening!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas holiday with plans of a fabulous New Year ahead! I would love to hear from you and what you have planned for 2018!

From my heart to yours, a big “THANK YOU!” to each and every one of you for your support! I love you all dearly!!

Much Love & Light ~ Sheila 🙂

The Palmer House Hotel

Located in the small city of Sauk Centre, Minnesota stands The Palmer House Hotel. Built in 1901 by Ralph L. Palmer and Christena J. Palmer, this historical landmark is enchanting with all its grandeur, warmth and charm. The hotel is well-known for its paranormal activity with reports dating back throughout the decades.

Aside from the ghostly residents, The Palmer House Hotel is full of rich history. As soon as an individual enters the front door facing Sinclair Lewis Avenue, it’s as if one is taken back in time. The feeling of yesteryear is quickly felt, aided along with respectfully displayed photographs hung upon the walls throughout the building, still constructed with original materials.

In the lobby, close to the base of the stairway, is a beautiful display case. Inside is a very elegant dress worn by original owner, Mrs. Christena J. Palmer. I was in such awe at the sight.

A couple of weeks ago I traveled from the Gulf Coast in Alabama to The Palmer House Hotel to attend The Paranormal Diaries Film: EVENT hosted by my friend, Blaine Duncan and his brother, Austin in honor of their exciting upcoming film, The Paranormal Diaries: A Documentary Film. The event lasted from November 10th – 12th. The entire weekend was full of fascinating presentations. The fun-filled activities were non-stop! Blaine and Austin shared with everyone their background in regards to the paranormal. They also talked about the many awesome locations they visited (including The Palmer House Hotel) while filming and promised to give details upon the film’s release!

Healer and Intuitive, Suzanne Worthley hosted two presentations about Angels, chakras, the difference between spirits and earthbound ghosts and so much more! Hearing her speak literally helped open my mind to an even higher level of understanding.

Psychic Medium, Tiffany Johnson was also there conducting readings. I asked her about my father who had passed away a little more than seven years ago. All I did was ask how he was doing and then Tiffany began to tell me things that I hadn’t discussed publicly before, personal things about my father. I could feel my father’s presence as Tiffany was relaying his messages. Tears began to well my eyes, some were happy and yet some were sad because I still miss him so much. Tiffany Johnson’s psychic gift is true and sincere, and I am extremely grateful for the reading she gave me.

Members of the Twin Cities Paranormal Society team were at the event as well talking about their team’s background history, the use of paranormal equipment and they even shared evidence that was captured on previous investigations. Their evidence was intriguing and some were even intense and frightening evps (electronic voice phenomenon).

And as both nights were winding down, Friday and Saturday, everyone gathered together to conduct paranormal investigations of The Palmer House Hotel. I, along with others, witnessed some flashlight responses when questions were being asked and flickering from light fixtures. Was I frightened? Absolutely not. Not once did I feel anything malevolent or terrifying. However, I must be honest, I did find myself becoming extremely captivated by this exquisite hotel. There was an undeniable sense of “home”, like I had been there before in the past. To those who had experienced the very same feeling, affectionately referred to it as “The Palmer House Effect”. The hotel’s current owner, Kelley and her staff were beyond amazing with their professionalism and yet personable ways! From the very first moment of my arrival to the last moment when I turned in my hotel key, everyone made me feel extremely welcomed!

Even though it has been a couple of weeks since The Paranormal Diaries Film: EVENT, I still feel drawn to the location. It’s something that I will continue to carry with me always!

“Interview with Adrian Lee”

Today I’m welcoming psychic, paranormal investigator and author, Adrian Lee! Thank you, Adrian for stopping by!

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I am the founder of The International Paranormal Society and a member of the Luton Paranormal Society in England. I have comprehensively investigated ghosts and paranormal activity all over the globe. I first became interested in the paranormal after experiencing several events in my childhood home. In adult life the idea progressively intrigued me that I could interface with the dead from a historical perspective. I first came to Minnesota early in 2008 to work on several paranormal video productions, and I spent two years working in Minneapolis as the national and international news correspondent for a live paranormal talk radio show on 100.3 KTLK. I currently host the only weekly paranormal news quiz show, More Questions than Answers.
My paranormal investigations are informed by my clairvoyance. I see detailed pictures in my third eye presented to me by the deceased. This allows me to have a very precise communication with the spirits. I also have the skill of remote viewing and clairsentience. In my youth my psychic sensitivities were dormant for some time. It was only through my work with other sensitives and through being exposed to various kinds of paranormal contact–coupled with my own personal psychic development, that I developed to where I can now utilize those skills freely. Like any other ability my clairvoyance continues to evolve and is becoming stronger through the implementing of structures surrounding my design for life, critical introspection, and practice.
I have also written the books Mysterious Minnesota: Digging up the Ghostly Past at 13 Haunted Sites and How to be Christian Psychic, What the Bible says about Mediums, Healers and Paranormal Investigators. I currently lecture on all aspects of the paranormal including ghosts, UFOs, psychic development, and angels.

At what age did you discover that you were psychic? And how have you lived with this ability, do you consider it a gift or a curse?

It is definitely a gift. I have trouble understanding those that complain about it being a curse when we have been given the unique ability to help, heal, and save others—whoever saves one life saves the world entire.
I saw entities in my bedroom when I was a small child growing up in east London—I believed one of them to be my great-grandmother. I described these phenomena to my parents and my father replied by saying, if it was my great-grandmother, then she would not want to hurt me, as she loved me. This is true and I have taken this concept through into my life of investigating the paranormal. Ghosts just reflect the society in which they were born and lived, and people (despite what the media would have us believe) are generally friendly and loving. If you fell over on the sidewalk, or broke down in your car, most people would stop and help.
The only issues I’ve had with ghosts and spirits is when they did not want me on their property, or I was considered the enemy (especially when investigating places like Fort Snelling in Minnesota, which was constructed to stop the British from coming back down from Canada). If individuals were mean and miserable when they were alive, then they are mean and miserable when they are dead—and who doesn’t know people like that now in their own lives. You keep the same humanity and personality when you die, you just lose your physical self.
I have gained the ability through meditation and a design for life to be able to turn my psychic skills on and off when I choose. So I am not bothered by spirits when I am walking through the grocery store or when I am in the shower.

You’re also a healer, tell us about that.

Many years ago I was the guest at a paranormal investigation being held in a disused Victorian School House in Derbyshire, England. The event was run by the respected British psychic and healer, Annette Moss. She told me during the event that I was a natural healer and that she would teach me to be a Reiki healer. I embraced the chance and studied Reiki and healing energy.
Over the course of my healing practice I have witnessed the most incredible transformations and healing taking place in the individuals I have worked with—in many cases baffling the medical profession by removing or curing disease and illness. Science is always playing catch-up to man’s wisdom. During the modernity of the scientific age of discovery we threw out much of our wisdom and knowledge in favor of what science could prove was right or wrong. Only recently has science discovered and recorded energy and auras being emitted from living creatures and plant-life. It has now recognized that energy can be transmitted from one person to another—so science is slowly catching up. Up until 1992 science said there were only nine planets, today we have found thousands. That is not to say they did not exist before 1992, just that science could not prove they existed.
Last year I had the privilege of healing a horse back from near death with pneumonia, so I am looking forward to working more with more animals in the future—that was a very touching and profound experience for me.

Being a paranormal investigator and founder of The International Paranormal Society, how do you incorporate your abilities into an investigation? And what has been your most challenging case thus far?

My psychic abilities are used on investigations just like any other piece of equipment. In an ideal world I would want to spend the beginning of an investigation annotating the psychic information I am receiving from the ghosts and spirits in the property. We investigate historically important sites and I am looking to bring history back from the lips of the dead—adding to the canon of American history by unwrapping information that has long since been lost to the knowledge of man.
Having created a large document of names, dates, and events psychically, we would then use the equipment to cross collaborate my findings—so we have empirical evidence backing up my psychic skills. After the investigation I would then find the individuals and the events the spirits spoke of within secondary source materials, like: newspaper archives, books, obituaries, banking details and censors records. I then find historically the individuals that I had not previously been aware of. This is a very powerful tool in proving that an afterlife exists and it is difficult to argue with from a skeptic’s perspective.
The most challenging aspect of investigating comes from the weather conditions or the state of the property I am investigating in. Ghosts and spirits in general don’t give me any issues and they want to be recognized and written about—these individuals are other people’s great-grandparents and great great-grandparents.
I investigated in the town of Long Prairie in Todd County, Minnesota, and it was so cold in the disused opera house that the ink froze in my pen. I have been in the bottom of several historic cargo freighters on a frozen Lake Superior up to my knees in lake water, oil, peeling paint, and other detritus. I guess I am learning that in the Midwest there is no such thing as the wrong weather, just the wrong clothing.
I am asked to remove darkness and Biblically evil entities from locations and properties but I have progressively found that they have removed themselves before I arrive—who is going to stick around to be banished if they know we are coming. The key is to stop them coming back into the property once we have departed, by anointing doorframes and windows, by blessings and using prayers, positive intensions, and clearing ceremonies. The use of salt is very effective and is found in Holy water, as well as many other religious beliefs.

You’re the author of several books such as How To Be A Christian Psychic: what the Bible says about Mediums, Healers, and Paranormal Investigators…. Mysterious Minnesota: Digging up the Ghostly Past at 13 Haunted Sites….. Tales From A Pioneer Town: the Earliest Stories of Sauk Centre, Minnesota….. and The Haunting & History Of The Christie House.
What was your inspiration to write them and where can readers go to purchase their very own copies?

I am a historian by trade and I lectured history all over Europe. As a historian you are solely dealing with secondary source materials as described above. We do not have a time machine and we were not there. So we collate all the information and present it how we think it may been have been back in that time period. As a psychic and paranormal investigator I can interview someone that was living in 1863 and actually ask them what it was like—just like asking your living granddad what he did during the war. This is now primary source material and I am uncovering history that has been lost and never seen before, this is very exciting and I feel like a cross between Indiana Jones and Sherlock Holmes. It is also unique and no one else is writing books in this manner.
My books can be found in every online bookstore and can be ordered by the well-known multinational book stores found around the US and the rest of the world (if they do not have a copy on their shelves). Please remember when you have read any book that you have enjoyed to leave a positive comment on Amazon. Ninety percent of all book sales are now sold through Amazon and any comments you leave allow the publisher, the author, and the distributor to keep promoting that author’s work—and will allow the writer to publish more in the future.

What’s next for Adrian Lee, any upcoming projects?

As always I have about five books on the go all at once. I am working on several titles that I hope to have published this year including: Ghosts and UFOs, are they the same? and More Mysterious Midwest. I have expos and events solidly booked for every weekend throughout spring, where I will be a keynote speaker and psychic reader. I am also touring and signing my latest book: Mysterious Midwest, Unwrapping Urban Legends and Ghostly Tales from the Dead. Recent Grammy winner David Ellefson of Megadeth has written the forward to this book. I am filming a paranormal show with him in April with several other celebrities.
Due to its success I am also publishing a second edition of my first book Mysterious Minnesota with a forward written by the author Antonia Felix. I am always busy but I love being active and squeezing every minute out of every day.

Any advice you’d care to share?

Two things that I consider to be very important. Firstly, learn to meditate, this is the quickest way to improve any psychic abilities and to develop your own sensitivities. There are some great guided meditations you can find on YouTube, search for the ones that suit you best and get started.

Secondly, show no fear. If you write a book or place yourself in the public eye then people will try and shoot you down and write negative things about you—it is an unfortunate part of the human condition. But for every negative comment that is written, another twenty people will say that you have given them life changing healing, valuable advice, or connected them to a loved one that has turned their life around.
Do not let fear stop you from being successful, or let people judging you stop you from achieving your potential, your dreams, your hopes. Go onto Amazon now and look at the negative reviews written for some of my books, when those individuals have never even read them—the lies, the vitriol, the hatred. Then look at the many positive, remarkable, and amazing reviews. I am not concerned in the slightest by those negative comments, if I am not upsetting someone then I am doing something wrong—it is a sign of gaining success and a reflection of where those people are in their own journeys. Not a single negative comment will ever stop me from fulfilling my dreams, writing my books, broadcasting my shows, healing, or investigating. Working with the dead all day has made me realize what it is to be alive…so show no fear!

Interview with Paranormal Investigator, Elizabeth Saint

Today I’m welcoming paranormal investigator, Elizabeth Saint from Destination America’s television series, Ghosts of Shepherdstown. Thank you, Elizabeth for stopping by!

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I’m a big daydreamer with a lot of imagination. As a child, I’d say the one way people would use to describe me was weird. And I was, but weird in a way I just want to make you smile kind of way. However, the response was often “Ewww!” or, again, “You’re weird.” I really thought I’d be an astronaut one day or astronomer, but I had my magician, geologist, and government spy period in there as well. Whenever we took trips to the library I was always reading about ghosts, dinosaurs or outer space. I’m a tomboy and played a lot of sports and video games growing up. However, as much as I was active and social, I was always a bit of a loner. The paranormal experiences I had as a child I think contributed to that even more so as I didn’t feel as if I had anyone to talk to about them. My very first computer was a Macintosh 512Ke. It had the black and white graphics with a floppy disk drive. I would definitely contribute that and those Coleco games from back in the 80s (like Pac Man and Football) to my beginning fascination of technology. To this day, I’m a lover of science, the unexplained and the arts. I can’t imagine my life without one of them.

You’re a model, a paranormal investigator, an electrical engineer and also an actress. How do you find time to balance everything? And how did all this get started for you?

It all started after High School. I never imagined my life would have simultaneously gone so many different ways. It was a classic case of not really knowing what I wanted to do or who I wanted to be. I started the college journey like most do. I was actually an Art major as I always had a strong background in graphic design, and it seemed like at least a good thing to start out with. About a month in, I received an opportunity to sign with a modeling agency in New York after taking a day trip with my roommate to Manhattan. With my parents blessing, I made the decision to withdrawal from classes that semester and take a chance on something I, quite frankly, wasn’t even sure I would be interested in. I remember going to my professors to have them sign off on my release, and what caught me by surprise was how emotional I was through the process. I knew I was about to start my adult life in a very unconventional way, and there was something scary yet refreshing about that. After a few years, I felt as though something was still missing in my life so I thought well maybe I should at least go back to school and see if that path is any better. I chose to enroll as a Computer Science major knowing it would be something I was good at. It was required as part of the curriculum to take an Introductory Electronic Circuits course, and after the first class I just fell in love with it! So, I immediately switched my major to pursue degrees in both Engineering and Electronic Engineering Technology. In that, I received a lot of wonderful professional opportunities in the field; even living out a lifelong dream I had working on a project at NASA via their reduced-gravity aircraft. Ultimately, I ended up taking a DoD Engineering job down in the DC area, and I’d say that is when a lot really changed for me. I began having a lot more paranormal experiences in the apartment I had just moved into to the point where I couldn’t ignore it anymore. I joined a paranormal team, Maryland Paranormal Research, which was definitely one of the best decisions I had made in my life as it helped opened up a part of me I had kept private for so many years. Short after, I started getting involved in local film projects, as a creative outlet, that quickly evolved to a part of my life I am very passionate about. Honestly, it’s always been a difficult thing to balance life between family and my passions. I’ve been guilty many times in the past of spreading myself too thin.

What’s it like being a paranormal investigator on Destination America’s television series, Ghosts of Shepherdstown?

Being an investigator for so many years prior to Ghosts of Shepherdstown, my favorite parts of being on the show would definitely be the history and collaboration. It’s rare on residential investigations to get the full picture of a haunting. You can do some research on the land and typically only get a night to investigate the location. Those nights are usually a hit or miss. On the show, we really immersed ourselves in the town for an extended period of time giving us lots of opportunities to collect really good evidence. With the help of Dana Mitchell, Chief Mike King, and Lorie Johnson, we were really able to paint a story of these spirits that we contacted during our investigations that helped create these beautiful period reenactments. Putting the show aside, it was a truly amazing experience to not only work with both Bill and Nick, but share the history of the people that once lived in Shepherdstown.

Tell us about Ghostly Gadgets and your engineered designs.

When we were filming Ghosts of Shepherdstown, Nick was talking to me about this show he would be filming that fall called Paranormal Lockdown. With my Engineering background, he asked if I’d be interested in making him something for the show. That something ended up being the E-Box they used on the Franklin Castle episode in Season 1. From there, I started making more designs, and that’s when Ghostly Gadgets was born. It’s been an incredible way to combine two of my passions in life, and hopefully contribute to moving the field forward in terms of utilizing technology to capture our subjective experiences.

Prior to conducting a paranormal investigation, how do you prepare yourself mentally for what you may encounter? Do you practice a certain routine?

It’s important throughout the process to remember why you are there. I find the desire to help someone, including spirits, with whatever is going on in their life or in their home trumps whatever feelings I might personally have on an investigation. So for me it was never really a mental thing. However, I have learned I do have to physically protect myself in preparing for an investigation. My best friend, who is a really talented artist, started making me protection bracelets years ago made of different stones that really help. When I didn’t do this, I found investigations left me very drained and, in extreme cases, would make me quite sick.

You’re also a sensitive. How would you describe that and when did you first realize that you had this ability?

My earliest memories of being visited by spirits go back to when I was about 4 years old. I think all kids experience these things to an extent. However, over time we are constantly told it doesn’t exist or just our imagination, and I think we just lose that part of ourselves. I wouldn’t say really it was any kind of an ability, but by not talking about it I believe, inevitably, those experiences just continued as I got older. I can’t tell you how many people, both friends and family, when the show came out said to me “I didn’t even know you were into the paranormal!” For me, I feel like a mutt in describing my experiences – a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Depending on the location, sometimes I can hear or see spirits, and other times I am just picking up on their mannerisms and emotions. Because of that, I think saying I’m sensitive to the paranormal makes more sense. A common misconception I think is that I’m some sort of psychic or medium. I know a lot of people would argue by saying, “Well, we can all say we are sensitive and have had sensitive experiences.” I absolutely agree! That’s why the majority of us have developed some interest in the field. After all the inexplainable phenomena I’ve experienced in my life, the true battle for myself is remaining open to receiving these experiences while combating the Engineer inside me constantly demanding scientific explanation or evidence. So much of science, however, is based off of observations rather than what we can physically see. I think if we keep that in mind, we can all get to a place where we are mentally willing enough to be “sensitive” on a more consistent basis.

As an actress, what kind of roles do you play and is there a favorite one so far?

They always tend to be rather dramatic roles. Not to sound extreme, but for some reason my characters are always either killing people or dying. My favorite role so far has been a recent one shot in England this past year for a horror film called “Howling” by Steven M. Smith to be released on Netflix in the spring. It was the first time I’ve had prosthetic work done to my face, and the transformation my character underwent both physically and emotionally was just an amazing experience.

Any upcoming projects?

Nothing I can announce yet, but it seems like 2017 is gearing up to be a busy year!

Where can fans follow you?

If you have Facebook you can go to Facebook.com/OfficialElizabethSaint. Twitter and Instagram are both @ElizabethSaint_. And my websites are ElizabethSaint.com and GhostlyGadgets.com.

Any words of advice?

Love what you do. My father always stressed that to me over the years, and I’ve found that simple mantra has allowed me to not only discover but fully explore my true passions in life.

Interview with Mike

Today I’m welcoming a gentleman named Mike who has had a life changing experience. Was it a Near Death Experience or something more? Here is Mike to tell us his story.

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I am just an ordinary guy that had an extraordinary experience. Just a regular guy, like you might see at the store, or at the game. I enjoy doing landscaping and try to make a living at it. I am a fairly creative person and enjoy art and music very much. Something very profound did happen to me however, and I thought I would share that with you.

One night, at the beginning of last year I experienced a heart attack. In typical stubborn male fashion, I excused the symptoms. I figured I would get better, and everything would be ok. After sweating a river for about 3 hours, I became overwhelmed by a feeling of eminent doom and decided that a trip to the ER was probably going to have to go ahead and happen. The good doctors told me I was in a bad way and needed some minor cath surgery and maybe more. So they prepped me and went in. I was about tuckered out by then. Half my heart hadn’t had oxygen for hours and the other half had about done all it could do to get me that far. They lost me. I went away. I left the hospital. I came back. I left again. My body was on that table the whole time, but I wasn’t there the whole time.

Both times when I left, I experienced things. I was shown things. I believe I was shown things in a way I could interpret and understand them. I’m not sure how long I was away either time, but the first time seemed rather brief. I immediately passed through a barrier. The overwhelming sense of permanency was very evident. It had happened. What was done was done, and I could not change anything. I found myself at a fork in a trail, in a beautiful wooded area. One trail went up and to the left. It was blue and white up there and very pretty. There were beautiful flowers and birds. The other fork went down and to the right. It was red and black. There were no flowers, or anything else growing there, only dead snags. It was gnarly and harsh and looked very uninviting. Something, I was not allowed to see, blocked my path at that fork. I could go down neither trail. I found myself suddenly back in the hospital. I was happy I was back.

I didn’t even have time to gain my bearings, or try to comprehend what was going on. I knew I was in surgery, and I just died. Then It happened again. I passed again through that boundary and thought the worst, surely this was it. I was gone much longer this time. Very intense things happened. Some are very personal and touch on some very emotional subjects, so I won’t go into great detail, but I went for one heck of a ride. I was shown many things. I was shown things from the past, the present and what I believe was the future. They were things that pertained to me and my life. I was then uploaded, if you will, with a lot of knowledge and switched on. It is very difficult to describe with words, but it was extremely intense. I walked by many loved ones that had passed. I arrived at a beach. It was a beautiful place. It was surreal. A lady stood on the beach. It looked like my mom, from a long time ago, when she was younger and healthier. I walked over to her and she turned to me. It was my mom, who had passed just about 6 months prior. She looked at me, and shook her head no, and smiled the biggest smile I have ever seen. Then I was back on the table, once again.

There was much more to it than that, but that is what happened to me that night, and early morning. I do not refer to my experience(s) that night as an NDE. In my mind, there was no “near” in the equation. I was dead. I don’t mean kind of dead, but dead. I was allowed to come back, twice. I am lucky. I may never understand everything I was shown that night, but it was life altering, to say the least.

What was your life like prior to your experience?

Life, for the most part, was fairly average. I love the outdoors, so I have always been outside doing something. I enjoy amateur astronomy, camping, hiking, etc. I worked in the nuclear industry for many years. I have always been fairly intelligent, but rather average. I was married for many years, and I have a wonderful son that I have always spent a lot of time with. I have had a fairly normal life, in most respects.

How has this changed your life? Have you undergone an awakening, perhaps with an emergence of abilities?

Dramatic change occurred in my life. I have always been rather intuitive, but I experienced a type of awakening, to use your word. That’s a good word for it. I am switched on now. Everything is different. I just know certain things now, and I don’t know how. I don’t even really know how to explain it in a way that makes sense, but I just know stuff. I am more religious to a degree, but I am much more spiritual. I feel a very clear connection with the universe that I could not recognize before. I feel very tuned in. I feel an overwhelming sense of empathy. I sense things.

A few of the things that have changed for me include, now having very intense dreams, now believing in past lives, believing in angels and now having the ability to sense the aura of some people. I can’t really see the aura with my eyes, but sense is a good word for it. Not with everyone, but yet even sometimes, just from a picture. The dreams are sometimes varied, but often of a recurring theme. They often portray or present what would seem to be things from past lives, in vivid detail. I am still absorbing all this and trying to comprehend it all.

What would you say to anyone who may be skeptical?

Skepticism is healthy. I might not believe someone if they said they experienced the things I experienced, if I hadn’t experienced it myself. I understand skepticism, especially when the experience is incredible. One day they will know also. It will come to pass for them too, when their time comes. It makes no difference to me, on a personal level, if someone believes my experience, or not. That choice is up to each person.

Any words of wisdom you’d care to share?

In a word, love. Love is the only thing that matters, because it is the only thing that can truly transcend the boundary between life and death. Love is the only thing that has any true value, in this great universe we live in. Live hard and love hard. Tomorrow is not promised.
