Interview with Eddie Hill, host of Paranormal Analytical

Today I’m welcoming Eddie Hill, host of Paranormal Analytical. Thank you, Eddie for stopping by!

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

Well, let’s see where I can start. I am a Retired Police Sergeant with 26 years on the street. I retired in 2014 in order to pursue the Paranormal. I also spent 8 years in the United States Navy Reserves as a Master at Arms (Military Police).
I’ve been involved in the paranormal for as long as I can remember. I’ve had dealings with black shadows, apparitions, UFO Sightings, and possibly a Bigfoot sighting, however, I can’t say for sure on the Bigfoot. I only caught a glimpse of something bipedal, tall, and possibly covered in fur, but due to the distance, it’s really hard to say.
Since I’ve had so many encounters, more than I could possibly write about, I decided to put together a team of professional investigators in order to try and find some answers. We like to think outside the box and try to look for new and different ways to prove or disprove what we are investigating. We are hoping at some point, we will be able to come up with some proven and scientific methods which will assist us, no matter what we are searching for.

What got you into the paranormal? Was it an experience, curiosity…. or?

From a very young age I began to have experiences with apparitions, dark shadows, UFO cases. I have a feeling that some of my Grandmother’s abilities rubbed off on me. She was a Curandera, who, from what I understand, was very powerful.
(A curandero (Spanish: [ku?an’de?o], f. curandera) or curandeiro (Portuguese: [ku??~’dej?u], f. curandeira) is a traditional Native healer, shaman or Witch doctor found in Latin America, the United States and Southern Europe. The curandero dedicates their life to the administration of remedies for mental, emotional, physical and spiritual illnesses based on their evaluation.[1][2][3][4] The role of a curandero or curandera can also incorporate the roles of psychiatrist along with that of doctor and healer. Some curanderos, such as Don Pedrito, the Healer of Los Olmos, make use of simple herbs, waters, and even mud to effect their cures. Others additionally employ Catholic elements, such as holy water and saint pictures. The use of Roman Catholic prayers and other borrowings and lendings are often found alongside native religious elements. Many curanderos emphasize their native spirituality in healing while being practicing Roman Catholics.
They are often respected members of the community. Literally translated as “healer” from Spanish. Their powers are considered supernatural, as it is commonly believed that many illnesses are caused by lost malevolent spirits, a lesson from God, or curse.)

With that being said, my abilities have always been strong and from what I have been told many times throughout my life, I carry the spirit of the Wolf. I don’t know how true that might be, however, I, along with five others, saw a spirit wolf one night and I was able to touch it. It truly was an amazing experience. We all saw it vanish right before our eyes. I don’t think I would have believed what I saw and felt, if I didn’t have witnesses to this encounter. It was something I won’t ever forget.

Tell us about your show Paranormal Analytical.

Paranormal Analytical is a show which was created by Altered Vision Studios. Miguel Cantu, our director, producer, and owner of Altered Vision Studios, wanted to harness our talents and abilities to create a true life and true adventure series/documentary that had no scripted lines, no overacting, and just true to life encounters. As you can imagine, when you are strictly working with the actual truth, it’s much harder to gather evidence than what you see on television. But once you are on a quest for the truth, the real evidence is what matters.

What’s the most bizarre otherworldly experience you’ve ever encountered?

There are so many, that it’s truly hard to place your finger on just one. Each have their very own energy and each of them are special in their very own way. But I would have to say, dealing with a Demonic case where a dark shadow person was going after a 13 year old girl. We are aware that most Poltergeist activity revolves around young girls just reaching puberty, however, the menacing occurrences to this little girl was pushing her over the edge. We had team members scratched, my name being called out on EVPs, so clear, it seemed as though it was HD quality and not just a class “A” EVP. The young girl who was staying with her grandmother finally told us not to come over anymore. That her grandmother was the one who kept calling this thing back by using a Ouija Board. Being that I was still in the Police Department, I was able to get her back with her mother and father. We did three separate house cleanings on that home, all of which seemed to work for a while. We were wondering why it kept returning. Once the young girl told us that he grandmother was involved, the question was answered.

You’re also on the new show, The Deadly Dogmen, Hunting For Lycanthropes. Share with everyone all the exciting details, what was the inspiration behind creating the show, what viewers can expect to see and where can people tune in?

The Deadly Dogmen series is based upon Leslie S. Mitts and Robert D. Miles’ best selling book, Lycandroids, Super Soldiers, and the Freedom War. Timestream Pictures and Altered Vision Studios teamed up to work on a series/documentary, based on this elusive creature that has been reported thousands of times around the world. Although this is a Cryptid Animal, some believe that much more is going on behind the scenes to keep this creature hidden from public view, more so than the Popular Bigfoot. There are thousands of people who turn up missing in state and federal parks. Some are found dismembered, eaten, or not at all. But this Lycan type creature is believed to be responsible for some of the disappearances. We know there could be many more possibilities, however, if there is a chance that a creature like this exists, we feel the public should be aware and take precautions when they could possibly be in an area inhabited by a creature of this size…an Apex Predator if you will. We have been working hard to gather witnesses who are willing to come forward and tell their story. Locations the creature was seen, and any evidence which someone may have gathered. We have the ability to have samples checked without interference from outside agencies. We hope that the show will spark an interest and allow us the funding to continue our research.

What’s next for Eddie Hill?

Well, I do what I do! The search will always continue for as long as I am able. Anything Paranormal happens, I am going to be there. I have a great team, Miguel Cantu, Rene Rodriguez, and Patrick Newcomb.
We will continue working on our series/documentary shows, as well as writing and working on Scripts for feature films. We have one that is called Anunnaki that will have a teaser out soon. So keep a watch for that one.

Where can paranormal enthusiasts and other like-minded individuals follow you and your work?

We can be found on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. We have a show every Thursday night on Facebook Live, which also gets aired on http://www.LNMRadioNetwork.com
You can find us live on Facebook Thursday Night from: 7:00pm – 9:00pm Central Time. We have some of the amazing guests on the show. Please keep an open mind and always be respectful to our guests. They are sharing what they know and their opinions on certain topics. It’s not a show for debate, but to learn and take with us what we can, if it will help us along our very own journey.

Any words of wisdom you’d care to share?

The best wisdom I can share, is keep an open mind. Not everything is black and white. Respect each other and work together to solve problems. We are all a part of this strange and fascinating world. It’s up to us to find the answers. And we will…a lot sooner if we are all on the same page and working together. Keep it real, be safe, and expose the liars. We must do this for each other.

Interview with actor, Lawrence Chau

Today I’m welcoming back actor, producer, writer and host, Lawrence Chau. Thank you, Lawrence for stopping by!

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I was born and raised in Toronto and have lived nine lives as a journalist, a public relations executive and as an actor/ television host in Canada, Asia and America (Ghostly Encounters, The Border, On The Run: The Elusive Mr. Wee, Showbuzz Singapore, Miss Singapore Universe, Hollywood Squares Singapore, Citylife Hong Kong and most recently, In The Limelight with Lawrence Chau). I’m currently living in Los Angeles and loving the weather, but hating the traffic. I will drive you bananas with useless showbiz trivia and conversations about politics. I love pets (especially dogs) and have a thing for real estate, especially sexy lofts. I am also aligned with the segment of the population that likes coconuts, avocados, and nuts. My vices include coffee and potato chips. Words that best describe me: silly, witty, inquisitive, intuitive, creative, organized, meticulous, friendly, adventurous, tenacious and independent.

Since your previous interview, you’ve had a lot of exciting things going on. Can you share with everyone?

Firstly, thanks for having me back! Yes, I started my own little production company and launched an online Hollywood talk show: In The Limelight with Lawrence Chau (#ITLwithLC), which I host, produce and write. I’m also in the midst of developing a few short films and possibly an independent feature. Projects like that generally take a long time to manifest because there are so many cogs in the wheel. When they do surface, though, you’ll just have to have me back to blab some more!

You’re the host of In The Limelight with Lawrence Chau. What kind of guests do you have on your show and where can viewers tune in?

#ITLwithLC is familiar territory as it brings me back to my showbiz hosting roots (I used to travel the world interviewing the biggest stars as the anchor and producer of Showbuzz, Singapore’s No. 1 entertainment news program. I was Mario Lopez before Extra Mario Lopez!).

I get to interview a range of showbiz movers and shakers on #ITLwithLC — from actors to writers to filmmakers. There are fresh faces and established names in the mix. The talk show is equal parts informative and fun.

We’ve had some great guests so far: Danish actor Caspar Phillipson, who played President John F. Kennedy in Jackie; Jona Xiao who has landed roles in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Keeping Up With The Joneses, Gifted, Halt and Catch Fire and Being Mary Jane; Heather Storm, who hosts Garage Squad; and the hilarious Katz Twins, who found fame by looking like Bradley Cooper (they really do!).

Most recently I got to interview showbiz correspondent and multiple New York Times best selling author J. Randy Taraborrelli, who’s penned biographies on everyone from Diana Ross and Beyonce to Michael Jackson and Madonna. He’s also written books on The Kennedys and is hot off the heels from executive producing and writing the hit Reelz cable channel mini-series, After Camelot. That was a pinch-me-moment because I grew up as a showbiz addict reading his books.

#ITLwithLC airs online on PacificRimVideo, SurgeTV, and my own YouTube channel (Lawrence Chau).

Aside from Ghostly Encounters, will there be anymore paranormal shows for you in the works?

Never say never, but honestly nothing concrete at the moment. I get a lot of fan inquiries asking if GE will return. I wish it were! It was a great gig. We were very much one of the forerunners to a lot today’s paranormal reality shows. Fingers crossed, though, one of my horror short films will see the light of day this or next year.

You recently were at the Oscars. What was that like?

As mind-blowing as it was when they announced the Best Oscar goes to…La La Land, no wait, Moonlight! After that it became pretty much a blur thanks to way too much Chardonnay. (Read: Lightweight as I normally don’t like to drink). I thought Jimmy Kimmel rocked as a host — just as he did at the 68th Prime Time Emmys, which I was also lucky enough to attend.

What’s next for Lawrence Chau?

Aside from developing more showbiz projects, I reckon a long overdue trip to New York, my favorite city, is in the pipeline and a holiday in Europe somewhere (Italy, Spain, England, Germany, Austria…?).

Positive words of wisdom?

Father Time has a way of sneaking up on you, so do what you love and try to start early. Stay focused. That said, it’s never too late to change. You just have to adapt wisely and be realistic. Whatever path(s) you choose in life, be prepared for a lot of curve balls and setbacks. Life is a challenge, a grind. You have to be tenacious, adaptable. Also, something Tom Ford (who wrote and directed Nocturnal Animals, one of my favorite films of late) said also resonated: You can have talent, looks and opportunity, but nothing will manifest unless you have drive. I’m trying to figure out why some people have drive whilst others don’t.

“Interview with Adrian Lee”

Today I’m welcoming psychic, paranormal investigator and author, Adrian Lee! Thank you, Adrian for stopping by!

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I am the founder of The International Paranormal Society and a member of the Luton Paranormal Society in England. I have comprehensively investigated ghosts and paranormal activity all over the globe. I first became interested in the paranormal after experiencing several events in my childhood home. In adult life the idea progressively intrigued me that I could interface with the dead from a historical perspective. I first came to Minnesota early in 2008 to work on several paranormal video productions, and I spent two years working in Minneapolis as the national and international news correspondent for a live paranormal talk radio show on 100.3 KTLK. I currently host the only weekly paranormal news quiz show, More Questions than Answers.
My paranormal investigations are informed by my clairvoyance. I see detailed pictures in my third eye presented to me by the deceased. This allows me to have a very precise communication with the spirits. I also have the skill of remote viewing and clairsentience. In my youth my psychic sensitivities were dormant for some time. It was only through my work with other sensitives and through being exposed to various kinds of paranormal contact–coupled with my own personal psychic development, that I developed to where I can now utilize those skills freely. Like any other ability my clairvoyance continues to evolve and is becoming stronger through the implementing of structures surrounding my design for life, critical introspection, and practice.
I have also written the books Mysterious Minnesota: Digging up the Ghostly Past at 13 Haunted Sites and How to be Christian Psychic, What the Bible says about Mediums, Healers and Paranormal Investigators. I currently lecture on all aspects of the paranormal including ghosts, UFOs, psychic development, and angels.

At what age did you discover that you were psychic? And how have you lived with this ability, do you consider it a gift or a curse?

It is definitely a gift. I have trouble understanding those that complain about it being a curse when we have been given the unique ability to help, heal, and save others—whoever saves one life saves the world entire.
I saw entities in my bedroom when I was a small child growing up in east London—I believed one of them to be my great-grandmother. I described these phenomena to my parents and my father replied by saying, if it was my great-grandmother, then she would not want to hurt me, as she loved me. This is true and I have taken this concept through into my life of investigating the paranormal. Ghosts just reflect the society in which they were born and lived, and people (despite what the media would have us believe) are generally friendly and loving. If you fell over on the sidewalk, or broke down in your car, most people would stop and help.
The only issues I’ve had with ghosts and spirits is when they did not want me on their property, or I was considered the enemy (especially when investigating places like Fort Snelling in Minnesota, which was constructed to stop the British from coming back down from Canada). If individuals were mean and miserable when they were alive, then they are mean and miserable when they are dead—and who doesn’t know people like that now in their own lives. You keep the same humanity and personality when you die, you just lose your physical self.
I have gained the ability through meditation and a design for life to be able to turn my psychic skills on and off when I choose. So I am not bothered by spirits when I am walking through the grocery store or when I am in the shower.

You’re also a healer, tell us about that.

Many years ago I was the guest at a paranormal investigation being held in a disused Victorian School House in Derbyshire, England. The event was run by the respected British psychic and healer, Annette Moss. She told me during the event that I was a natural healer and that she would teach me to be a Reiki healer. I embraced the chance and studied Reiki and healing energy.
Over the course of my healing practice I have witnessed the most incredible transformations and healing taking place in the individuals I have worked with—in many cases baffling the medical profession by removing or curing disease and illness. Science is always playing catch-up to man’s wisdom. During the modernity of the scientific age of discovery we threw out much of our wisdom and knowledge in favor of what science could prove was right or wrong. Only recently has science discovered and recorded energy and auras being emitted from living creatures and plant-life. It has now recognized that energy can be transmitted from one person to another—so science is slowly catching up. Up until 1992 science said there were only nine planets, today we have found thousands. That is not to say they did not exist before 1992, just that science could not prove they existed.
Last year I had the privilege of healing a horse back from near death with pneumonia, so I am looking forward to working more with more animals in the future—that was a very touching and profound experience for me.

Being a paranormal investigator and founder of The International Paranormal Society, how do you incorporate your abilities into an investigation? And what has been your most challenging case thus far?

My psychic abilities are used on investigations just like any other piece of equipment. In an ideal world I would want to spend the beginning of an investigation annotating the psychic information I am receiving from the ghosts and spirits in the property. We investigate historically important sites and I am looking to bring history back from the lips of the dead—adding to the canon of American history by unwrapping information that has long since been lost to the knowledge of man.
Having created a large document of names, dates, and events psychically, we would then use the equipment to cross collaborate my findings—so we have empirical evidence backing up my psychic skills. After the investigation I would then find the individuals and the events the spirits spoke of within secondary source materials, like: newspaper archives, books, obituaries, banking details and censors records. I then find historically the individuals that I had not previously been aware of. This is a very powerful tool in proving that an afterlife exists and it is difficult to argue with from a skeptic’s perspective.
The most challenging aspect of investigating comes from the weather conditions or the state of the property I am investigating in. Ghosts and spirits in general don’t give me any issues and they want to be recognized and written about—these individuals are other people’s great-grandparents and great great-grandparents.
I investigated in the town of Long Prairie in Todd County, Minnesota, and it was so cold in the disused opera house that the ink froze in my pen. I have been in the bottom of several historic cargo freighters on a frozen Lake Superior up to my knees in lake water, oil, peeling paint, and other detritus. I guess I am learning that in the Midwest there is no such thing as the wrong weather, just the wrong clothing.
I am asked to remove darkness and Biblically evil entities from locations and properties but I have progressively found that they have removed themselves before I arrive—who is going to stick around to be banished if they know we are coming. The key is to stop them coming back into the property once we have departed, by anointing doorframes and windows, by blessings and using prayers, positive intensions, and clearing ceremonies. The use of salt is very effective and is found in Holy water, as well as many other religious beliefs.

You’re the author of several books such as How To Be A Christian Psychic: what the Bible says about Mediums, Healers, and Paranormal Investigators…. Mysterious Minnesota: Digging up the Ghostly Past at 13 Haunted Sites….. Tales From A Pioneer Town: the Earliest Stories of Sauk Centre, Minnesota….. and The Haunting & History Of The Christie House.
What was your inspiration to write them and where can readers go to purchase their very own copies?

I am a historian by trade and I lectured history all over Europe. As a historian you are solely dealing with secondary source materials as described above. We do not have a time machine and we were not there. So we collate all the information and present it how we think it may been have been back in that time period. As a psychic and paranormal investigator I can interview someone that was living in 1863 and actually ask them what it was like—just like asking your living granddad what he did during the war. This is now primary source material and I am uncovering history that has been lost and never seen before, this is very exciting and I feel like a cross between Indiana Jones and Sherlock Holmes. It is also unique and no one else is writing books in this manner.
My books can be found in every online bookstore and can be ordered by the well-known multinational book stores found around the US and the rest of the world (if they do not have a copy on their shelves). Please remember when you have read any book that you have enjoyed to leave a positive comment on Amazon. Ninety percent of all book sales are now sold through Amazon and any comments you leave allow the publisher, the author, and the distributor to keep promoting that author’s work—and will allow the writer to publish more in the future.

What’s next for Adrian Lee, any upcoming projects?

As always I have about five books on the go all at once. I have expos and events solidly booked for every weekend throughout spring, where I will be a keynote speaker and psychic reader. I am also touring and signing my latest book: Mysterious Midwest, Unwrapping Urban Legends and Ghostly Tales from the Dead. Any advice you’d care to share?

Two things that I consider to be very important. Firstly, learn to meditate, this is the quickest way to improve any psychic abilities and to develop your own sensitivities. There are some great guided meditations you can find on YouTube, search for the ones that suit you best and get started.

Secondly, show no fear. If you write a book or place yourself in the public eye then people will try and shoot you down and write negative things about you—it is an unfortunate part of the human condition. But for every negative comment that is written, another twenty people will say that you have given them life changing healing, valuable advice, or connected them to a loved one that has turned their life around.
Do not let fear stop you from being successful, or let people judging you stop you from achieving your potential, your dreams, your hopes. Go onto Amazon now and look at the negative reviews written for some of my books, when those individuals have never even read them—the lies, the vitriol, the hatred. Then look at the many positive, remarkable, and amazing reviews. I am not concerned in the slightest by those negative comments, if I am not upsetting someone then I am doing something wrong—it is a sign of gaining success and a reflection of where those people are in their own journeys. Not a single negative comment will ever stop me from fulfilling my dreams, writing my books, broadcasting my shows, healing, or investigating. Working with the dead all day has made me realize what it is to be alive…so show no fear!

Interview with actor, Todd Robbins

Today I’m welcoming Todd Robbins, host of Investigation Discovery’s television series, True Nightmares. Thank you, Todd for stopping by!

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I am a performing and creative artist that has spent a lifetime immersed in the shadowy worlds of arcane popular entertainment, dark illusions and sinister realities.

You have quite the impressive background from being an actor, an author, magician and even a carnival performer. What has all that been like for you and what has been the drive that got you to where you are today?

I have always been drawn to character. I like life that has twists and turns. The safe and easy has never called to me.

You’ve worked for Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Tell us about that and what were some of the highlights of your performances?

Ripley’s is a brand that has presented reality as its most interesting and amazing for almost a hundred years. I love everything that this brand stands for, and it is an honor to have done a few things under its banner. It was a real challenge performing in their show in Branson, MO. That is a town where everything is false, and our show was a bit too real for their taste. When that show ended, I was very glad to get back to NYC, where anything is possible…good and bad.

You’re also the host of the television series, True Nightmares on Investigation Discovery (ID). What was the spark that got you into this role?

True Nightmares grew out of my theater show called Play Dead. I created that show with Teller (of Penn & Teller) and he directed me in it. That show was filled with stories of people, some good and some not so good, that had a relationship with death during their lives. We used magic as special effects to give a sense that these dead people were gone but they were not far away, and when they came back to visit the living, the resulting spectacle was terrifying. I was approached by Discovery Studios to develop a TV project along these lines and Investigation Discovery saw that I told true stories of dark people with a twist that was complimentary to the content of their channel but also an expansion of that they currently present. In the first meeting with the network I brought up the idea of have me “ghosted” in the reenactment scenes, popping up when things take a turn towards the evil. With Executive Producer Eddie Barbini, I developed the concept into a series. The result is a show that presents quirky stories of murder and mayhem that all have an ironic twist to them. I look upon my role not so much as a host or narrator, but much more of a storyteller. This lifts the series out of the docu-drama genre and puts it into a whole different field.

Share with everyone what your book, The Modern Con Man: How to Get Something for Nothing is about and where can readers get their very own copy.

This book is about the mind of the con artist, and the best way to understand it is to try out some simple cons and scams that you can perpetrate on your friends and family. The book, along with three DVDs that compliment it, are available on Amazon.

What have been some of your most memorable moments throughout your career?

I came upon the world of the sideshow when I was a teenager and was lucky to have learned how to do all the classic stunts like sword swallowing and fire eating from performers that were the last generation of true carnival and circus sideshow entertainers. It’s true that I have devoured somewhere in the neighborhood of 5,000 light bulbs. I learned it from a fellow that did an act called The Human Ostrich and it consisted of him consuming things like lit matches and cigarettes, razor blades and tin cans.

Do you have any upcoming projects?

Yes. I am working on a wicked storytelling podcast that will be titled Dark Illusions, Darker Reality, and there are a couple of TV projects that are in the planning stages right now. One is a travelogue that tells the twisted history of places I visit called Down a Road, Darkly, and a few others that too early to speak about. Yes, the word “dark” does seem to be theme in much of what I do!

Where can fans follow your work?

They can follow me on twitter @toddrobbins, on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Todd-Robbins-923440934335323/ and at my website www.toddrobbins.com

Any words of wisdom you’d care to share?

Live each day as if it was your last, because one day it will be…and for many, it’s later than you think!

YouTube, Radio & Facebook… Oh My!!!

Hello all you beautiful people! Hope everyone’s doing well. For me, the week has been off to another fabulous start. I’ve been pretty busy lately and wanted to share some exciting things with you!

Firstly, a very dear friend of mine created this YouTube video for my novel, The Spirit Within. I’m so ecstatic, it was put together quite beautifully!

Secondly…. Recently, I was the guest on Spaced Out Radio with host, Dave Scott. We had a lot of fun discussing the paranormal, my novel: The Spirit Within and even talked about the ability of being an empath, which I openly discuss that I am. We also had a great time answering questions from the listeners. For those of you who weren’t able to tune in at the time of broadcasting, here is the link……

And thirdly….  In the near future, here on my site, a few changes will be made. For instance, a brand new banner has been beautifully designed that I’m extremely happy about. Also, a lot of people have been asking if my artwork is available for purchase. The answer is yes. So, as part of the upcoming changes, I will be adding a place here on my site where my artwork can be purchased. I’ve even went live on Facebook discussing my site’s changes. If you would like to check out my “Go Live” video, here it is…. Changes to my site, sheilarparker.wordpress.com

Be sure to connect with me on Facebook as I “Go Live” with upcoming news!

Interview with Aaron Hunter

Today I’m welcoming Aaron Hunter, producer of the hit show, Real Paranormal Activity – The Podcast. Thank you, Aaron for stopping by!

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

“Sure, my profession is in the IT Industry and I support Financial Solution Software that have been developed “in house” at these tech companies in Chicago. I live in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. I have been here for 12 years. It’s funny about life and it’s true how the saying goes, what you do in college may not end up what you’ll be doing. I wanted to be an artist and a writer of fine novels! So, my first two years I took a lot of artsy courses. Including writing and ancient history. Then I started taking more history courses. I was fascinated about our human history! Now at this point I started to doubt my interest in writing fine novels and painting exotic beautiful women! At this point though I was playing a lot of video games. You see, my father was a Systems Engineer with IBM and he bought me my first computer back in the mid 80’s around 13 (dating myself). And that is when I started programming in Basic. I was enjoying this machine. So, back to college and my gaming habits. I soon realized that I could combine my love for being an artist and technology! Become a 3D Computer Animator! And also at the same time I didn’t think a scholar with a background in history would allow me to go where I wanted to go in the world. Third year I made my major to be 3D Animation and Graphics. This was hot stuff back then like it is now! Everyone wanted to make the next hot game or make movies. I didn’t care. I would do either, because this stuff was fun. One thing….. colleges never tell you HOW to get the job. So, after graduation I found out us computer graphic guys needed Agents. And at that time there were very little animation houses. Most were out in California. Like Electronic Arts. AND seeing as you didn’t have a good professional portfolio you normally were paid much lower wages, shorter contract time and did simple modeling, texturing or made a ball bounce. Just really amateur. And of course the pros that has been in it for years that had the six figure salary and longer contracts were not just going to move out of your way. So, I think it was three years that went by and I was working temp jobs. And then I saw this entry level tech position at this large corporation. I applied and the interview went well. They liked my background in computers and early programming. I got it! Not a bad starting salary either for Chicago area. And I was to learn their new piece of software that they were developing. I was housed at their corporate office and rubbing shoulders with the VPs and President. They had classrooms that I went to learn the software. And that’s how my dream died and started my new career! Funny how things work out. I liked the money and benefits though. Oh, I’m a Foody. I like trying new foods. I really like food from India and Poland. I also love to travel and just get lost. Movies are one of my vices as well.”

Why the paranormal and what was the driving force behind creating your own show, Real Paranormal Activity – The Podcast?

“Well, here’s long story number two! Let’s make this clear. I never had any belief in the paranormal or supernatural due to my background, obviously. It doesn’t make sense. Things moving around in thin air. Wizardry, Sorcery and magical stuff, man! So, I met this woman and it was a long distance relationship. I would fly out of Chicago to Minneapolis and vise versa. Round trip was only $114 and it was an hour trip one way. Very doable, adventurous and fun! We had a great time! And she rented this two-story Farmhouse out in the country. Very peaceful that sat on a large lot of land. It has this large fast flowing creek or small river going through the front lawn. You could fish in it. And a wooded area behind the home. I saw the stars for the first time in many years. I was always in populated areas if I traveled for business. I was also amazed at how freaking dark it was out there! So, when I visited and if we stayed at her place (sometimes we would travel to a festival nearby) it would be over the weekend or sometimes I would take a couple days off and stay for four days. All wood floors. It had a big unfinished basement and with these dark Cherry Wood paneled walls, beautiful! The thing is when the first few times I started coming over she began to tell me these “stories” about the house. She’s lived there for around a year and half before I came around. Anywhere from a male voice to footsteps upstairs to one of the owners seeing what they thought was their dead brother walking behind the house. At first it concerned me. She’s nuts! Then I just blew it off, because she is more educated than I am with her Masters. She was in the Army and is now a state agent. A Cop. So, there might be some truth to these things or she is doing a psych test on me. Cops are crafty that way! I ended up getting laid-off in 2010 with this whole financial turmoil the country was in and decided to stay out there while looking for a job. Never stayed out there for as long as I was about to. After about three-weeks to a month “things” started happening. Just loud noises in the middle of the day or at night. One night there was a “crash” downstairs so I went to look and door to the home was wide open! I bolt lock that thing every night, because it’s more dangerous out there than in Chicago. In Chicago I’m in a secure building in a good area. People everywhere. Out there, however it’s a different story. So, I’m doing these experiments to try to figure out what’s going on. And it seemed to be escalating! At one point (even though I had no proof) I thought that perhaps this house was unstable. Ha! I think it was the fourth event that really shook me and I left the next day to speak with my father about it and I wasn’t about to stay there. I’ll leave it at that, because there is a lot going on here. I tell the whole story in great detail at the show site. It’s Episode 42 and it’s two and a half hours long. We’ll get to all that information further down. So, I became FASCINATED with the paranormal. In Sept of that year (2010) I went back to Chicago, because I landed a job. And every since 2010 I’ve been reading and researching everything I can get my hands on about the paranormal. I already knew there is a lot of false claims, but I’m pretty good at catching them. I’m an academic. I don’t go looking for these things. I just research. And man there are some nasty stuff you can find, but they are pretty rare. There is a reason people don’t see these things or die without ever experiencing anything. My girlfriend and I split in 2012 and I continued on. I began getting into these files called “Podcasts”. Basically a MP3 file, but Apple started to provide a way for people to submit their own MP3 file and sell them or give them away. What happened is people just bought a mic and started recording what they wanted to talk about and also other things. Homemade Radio Shows! In January of 2015 my tech friend Brit and I sat down and started talking about making a little info type of show on the paranormal. Perhaps, ask people if they had any experiences and if they would send them in for us to read. So, we bought some equipment. Got the website established. Got some stock music. And KA-POW! Real Paranormal Activity – The Podcast (RPA) was born! We are now in Season 2!”

What are your beliefs regarding the paranormal?

“I answered some of that on the above question, but I firmly believe people won’t talk about it because it’s crazy stuff and they can’t even prove what they experienced or thought they experienced. And that’s one of the main reasons of the creation of the show. To provide an outlet for people. To provide answers. To provide a “family” of sorts. To provide perhaps some sort of therapy? So, we’ve had a GREAT response with the show’s fans. They ask for help. And sometimes thanks us for reading their story, because it helped them. I also believe as I said in the previous question you may not find anything. And most things can be debunked, but then again…. some things DO happen. I know that myself. If I never sat foot into that crazy house I would still be laughing at people instead of trying to provide an outlet. Be the solution not the problem, man! I do laugh at the paranormal shows. It’s entertainment. One thing. I would have the lights on to get clear video and to see where you’re going. Trust me. These things are not scared of lights. Things happened at the house during the day. And if they are afraid of light. We’ll there’s your solution. Always have light inside your home. Ha!”

What kind of guests do you have on your show?

“Wow, good question. All kinds from professionals to non-professionals that have experienced something. We have Psychics, Mediums, Empaths, Investigators, Authors and even a guy who produced a paranormal movie. And you have your own episode on the show as well. Episode 18 where we speak about your book. I had fun by the way. You were very easy to speak to!”

Care to tell us one of the scariest ghost stories shared by a guest?

“In another interview I was asked that and it stumped me, because I’ve been reading stories and books since 2010. So many! Since then I thought about it just in case I was asked that question again. There was this family that moved into a Farmhouse. What’s with these farmhouses? Anyway it was the father, mother and daughter. And that first night the daughter woke up to a scream and talking from her parent’s room. The next day she asked about it and nothing much was said. The daughter always had an odd feeling about her parents room. As time went on the parents divorced and the daughter went with her mother to live. The father stayed in the house. When the daughter would stay at her father’s house. She would stay at her parents old bedroom. She felt scared and moody while in that room. Finally she decided to ask her mother what happened that first night when they stayed there. Her mother told her she woke up and felt being watched. Moonlight streamed in through the windows. She glanced around the room. Something was wrong. Her eyes fell upon the open closet door. Inside the closet…swinging back and forth was a hanging man! Neck broken to the side with these eyes glaring right at her. She then screamed and woke-up her husband. She told her husband what she saw and they soon started arguing, because the father didn’t believe in such junk!

Where can listeners find your show, Real Paranormal Activity – The Podcast? And what is the show’s schedule?

“Oh man, we’re all over the place now! Two places we would recommend. First, use your mobile device and use a podcast app. Then do a search for us and then you can download the episodes for free. And listen to us anywhere! Second, go to the website at www.RealParanormalActivity.com . We release a new episode every Monday! And also throughout the year we do bonus episodes for Christmas, Halloween or when I may mess up and be late for a Monday release. So, I do my best to make it up to you guys. Because without our audience we wouldn’t have a show. Just talking to air. And we’re flattered that we even have fans, because we’re no one. Thanks for listening guys!”

What would you say to a non-believer if they were to question you about the paranormal?

“That’s good! You should question me, because what I just told you is crazy. And you questioning me means that you are a logical and critical thinker!”

What’s next for Aaron Hunter and Real Paranormal Activity – The Podcast?

“Secret plans to take out the competition! No, we are expanding onto other networks and into other market places. So, we will continue to do that and grow the show. Brit and I have talked about adding a new section to the show. Something a little different. Nothing will change with the current show. Just additional content. I also spoke about a idea that I think is really amazing back earlier this year. And I said I thought it would be implemented sometime in March. That time has passed and life keeps us busy. We are still very interested in doing it, but need to speak with another party. I think it’s something no other podcast has done and we like that. Don’t keep doing the same stuff guys! Be creative and take the complaints. People will come around if it’s truly a good idea. And there is a reason I’m being very vague. Don’t want to give away too much.”

Any words of wisdom you’d care to share?

“Be kind.”

Interview with Lawrence Chau

Today I’m welcoming Lawrence Chau. Lawrence Chau is an actor and an award-winning host and writer, who has worked in Canada, Asia and America.  He is known by most in North America as the host of Ghostly Encounters.  The paranormal program airs stateside on Destination America, in Canada on Oprah Winfrey Network, and in Asia on Crime & Investigation Channel.

Thank you, Lawrence for stopping by!

  1.  Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada and graduated with a degree in journalism.  I then trekked off to Hong Kong where I landed my first break in showbiz.  Then came Singapore.  That’s where my career really exploded as a host and actor.  After 10 great years in Asia, I routed back to Toronto where I landed Ghostly Encounters and other acting gigs.  Los Angeles is home now where I’ve been concentrating more on acting.  Off-camera I zone out by watching movies and TV shows.  I also love dogs.  I’m not really into nightlife as I don’t like drinking.  I’m in a more Zen state of mind.  I love my “me” time.

  1.  Along with being an actor, you’re also a writer.  What are some of your writing accomplishments?

You’re going to laugh, but my first exposure as a writer came when I was seven.  I wrote and illustrated a short story called Crazy Witch that was made available for loan at the school library.  It was an imaginary tale of how I escaped from a Crazy Witch after she had kidnapped me with designs of cooking me in her caldron.   I then won a scholarship award for best story-of-the-year in journalism school.  Professionally, I have contributed to numerous publications in Asia and Canada as a columnist and entertainment writer.  I also used to pen many of the scripts for Showbuzz, Singapore’s No. 1 English entertainment news program, which I also anchored and produced.  I probably will delve into scriptwriting eventually.

  1.   You’re the host of The Biography Channel’s television series, Ghostly Encounters.  What’s that like and are you a believer in the paranormal?

BIO.  did air Ghostly Encounters years ago, but no longer.  As of now, Destination America (owned by Discovery Channel) has bought the series and airs it stateside.  Yes, I do believe in the paranormal.  I actually recounted a chilling ghostly encounter in my personal life at the audition.   I’m guessing that helped me land the gig as host.  I’m really grateful for that opportunity.  Not many producers or networks would take a chance on an Asian male entertainment host.

  1.  Is there a particular episode of Ghostly Encounters that just really grabs your attention?  If so, why?

Anorexia and The Hag stands out.  The episode also resonated with a lot of viewers for they, too, claimed to have experienced the paralyzing effects of The Hag — as have my brothers and I.  To this day, I’m not sure if it was what doctors describe as sleep paralysis or a spiritual encounter, but let me tell ya, when my brothers and I had them during our teens and 20s, we were freaked out.  I don’t get them anymore, though.

  1.  Have you personally experienced anything paranormal?

My most vivid paranormal encounter was in an office building in downtown Toronto.   I was in university part-timing at a newspaper office and my boss was kind enough to let me stay late on a Saturday night to work on my essay on Frankenstein (appropriate, I know).  On her way out, she said, “Be careful of Big Foot.”  I’m like, “Huh?”

A little after midnight, the phone rings.  I think it’s my boss calling to check up.  Nothing.  All I hear is a breezy sound.  Then the ceiling lights slowly zap off row by row.  I quickly turn them back on.  I resume typing my essay when down the hall I hear the elevator moving.  I assume it’s building security doing the rounds.  The elevator stops on my floor.  No one.  Then I hear “thump, thump, thump;” loud footsteps coming down the hall from the elevator towards me.  I am frozen at my typewriter.  I immediately think, “Big Foot!”  I see nothing, but the slow, elephant-like steps continue right past me.  The steps stop at the end of the room.  Suddenly the pinned up papers at the end wall fall down, then a lamp falls.  I am frazzled with fear.  In a mad dash, I put everything back in place and tear off home.

The next day I ask my boss what the heck that was.  She says the same thing happened to her when she stayed behind one night, the difference being Big Foot actually walked through her and she felt an unearthly chill glide through her body.

  1.  If someone wanted to ask your opinion regarding the supernatural, what would you tell them?

I would say what Mark Wahlberg said in The Happening:  “There are forces of nature beyond our control.”

  1.  Have you conducted any paranormal investigations?  If yes, where?

No, I actually have not.

  1.  You have quite the impressive background with an extremely busy schedule.  How do you find time to unwind?

The entertainment industry is crazy.  Very unpredictable.  If we aren’t on-camera, chances are we’re doing something behind-the-scenes.   Breaks pop up here and there and you just seize them.   Sleep, movies, DVR, quiet nights alone or with friends — all help soothe the soul.  I travel alone sometimes, too to de-stress.  I also love Googling and YouTubing.

  1.  Care to share some of your current projects?

We just wrapped filming on Farm 1, a rather intense short film that sheds light on the dark world of child prostitution.  I actually had nightmares preparing for my role, arguably the grittiest role I’ve tackled to date. (No spoiler alerts, lol). It’s produced by Hoplite Entertainment, which recently won an Emmy, so I’m sure it’s in great hands.  No idea when it will be released.  It’s currently in post-production.

  1.  Any positive words of advice for your fans?

Firstly, thanks for watching and supporting Ghostly Encounters.  Means a lot!  Advice?  Don’t live in a bubble.  Get out and explore the world.  Discover it and your inner self.  Find what makes you tick, pursue it, and live life to the fullest.
