In our darkest moments we all too often fall victim to the sobbing of “Why is this happening to me?” . It’s easy to lay blame onto that which we do not understand…. easy to give up and simply throw in the towel. But by doing so, what does that actually teach us?
Self-doubt, low self esteem, inner conflicts due to anxiety and depression….the list goes on…. So many factors play into the “Why me?” scenario. Unfortunately, we have all had moments like these. And the important thing to know is…. It’s ok to have an “off day“. By having one doesn’t mean that we are bad people or that the whole world is crumbling, even though that’s exactly what it feels like is happening during those times.
But if we change our perspective from “why is this happening to me?” to “what is this trying to teach me?“, then we change our mindset. We begin to start looking for lessons that are meant to be learned from our experiences. Lessons that can help strengthen our “mind, body and spirit” . And by doing so, empowering ourselves to be the wonderful individuals that we all are meant to be on a daily basis.
Having an “off day” is ok. It’s the dark moments that help us to see the light, sometimes that’s when the stars seem to shine their brightest!

So, the next time we face adversity, let’s look for the lesson that’s meant to be learned instead of focusing on the problem that can prevent us from moving forward.

This is such a powerful life lesson! When I disliked myself due to having internalized all the negative things said to me, I took every single event in my life too personally and lay the blame and shame thick and deep on myself. After I had taught myself to like myself, I was able to see things more objectively, because I had come to see that God and the universe were actually very loving and only want the very best for us. Being able to see things as lessons was a huge paradigm shift for me, but ultimately was so good for my mental health. I highly recommend this for others who are struggling! It’s quite a process to go through that transition, so I encourage people to be patient with themselves, to offer grace and to suspend inner judgement. This is truly life changing!
