The Foreboding Rider

A darkened figure upon a horse
travels headless on a course.
A course set out for a perilous goal
to seek for a dying’s weakened soul.

Its head, it carries under its arm,
void of humanity and all its charm.
On its face, a malicious grin
with beady eyes full of sin
that can see for miles and miles on end.

Its target, it calls their name out loud
even through the thickest crowd.
If it’s not one’s turn to die,
never look this creature in the eye
for with its spiny whip it’s quick to strike,
leaving one with blinded sight.

With flames aglow and footsteps gone,
lies the trail of the Dullahan…..
