Recently, I was outside taking trash to the bin. When I lifted the lid to toss the bag in, a bright green tree frog immediately jumped onto the inside of my left bicep. I freaked! Seriously! Those who know me best know that the little jumping creatures make my skin crawl. I have never liked frogs….. Ever! Well, except for Kermit and his nephew Robin from the Muppets…. Those two, I love! The reason for my dislike of frogs? When I was a little girl my older brothers would chase me around with them…. siblings…. gotta love them, right?! Lol
Anywho…. The day that the frog jumped onto my arm I made a silly post on social media about it, basically laughing at myself. Someone commented and said that frogs were actually messengers with good vibes. So I looked it up and, loe and behold, here is what I read….
“The frog as spirit animal or totem reminds us of the transient nature of our lives. As symbol of transition and transformation, this spirit animal supports us in times of change. Strongly associated with the water element, it connects us with the world of emotions and feminine energies, as well as the process of cleansing, whether itβs physical, emotional, or more spiritual or energetic.
Frog Symbolism
The symbolism of the frog appears in many traditions around the globe. This animal is generally associated with the water element and its cleansing attributes. The frog is symbolic of:
Cleansing
Renewal, rebirth
Fertility, abundance
Transformation, metamorphosis
Life mysteries and ancient wisdom” ~ https://www.spiritanimal.info/frog-spirit-animal/
The frog is a water sign, which I found to be interesting because my zodiac sign is Pisces (another water sign). Coincidence? Some may say yes, but I believe everything happens for a reason. And with the way the frog jumped onto my arm like it did, maybe it was helping me to face a fear? Who knows… But since then, I feel more confident thanks to the little guy and my research on the meaning of its totem. Another reason to be blessed! Life is beautiful!
Also, several years back a dear friend of mine found a phone charm of a frog that she gave to me as a joke. But ya know what? I kept it and unfortunately since she gave it to me, she’s passed on. I’m glad I kept the charm. It makes me smile and think of her every time I look at it.
And a few years ago, another friend of mine went to the Caribbean for a vacation. When she returned, she gave me a multicolored beaded wooden frog that she said she literally watched being handmade. Even though she knew how frogs made me feel, she still wanted to give it to me because it’s covered in several beautiful colored beads. I was honored to accept her gift.
So, with all this being said…. My appreciation for frogs has grown greatly. They’re wonderful symbols with so much positivity about them!
Counting blessings one day at a time! β€οΈ

I find it interesting that not only did the universe have your friends give you frog gifts to help you see a positive side to frogs, but that you noticed what the universe was doing! Blessed are those who see, for mysteries are revealed to them! Amazingly, this gift is available to all who choose to open their eyes. Love the connections and the analogies you have given!
